In the previous 17 years v.v. Nieuweschoot hosted approximately 700 national and international youth football teams at sports ground De Greiden. Lots of clubs start their tournament planning in the first weeks of the month September. Our tournament committee received many questions in advance about the tournament through the years. The most common questions are published here under the “Frequently asked questions”.

How do I receive a tournament brochure?
Click here to download the brochure. The tournament brochure informs you about all the ins and outs and gives an impression of the international tournament by some photographs.

How can I enter the tournament?
If you are interested in participating, you/ your clubs can use the online entry form. If you encounter any problem using the form, just contact the tournament committee by e-mail: Dit e-mailadres wordt beveiligd tegen spambots. JavaScript dient ingeschakeld te zijn om het te bekijken. .

What’s the level of the tournament?
At our tournament level isn’t important. All participating teams are randomly mixed in the first round in their own age group. In the second round, based on results in the first, teams will be playing in new groups and against equal leveled teams.

Which teams will be playing on the tournament?
This tournament is for the F-pupils (U8 and U9) and E-pupils (U10 and U 11).

How long is the entry period?
The entry period starts at the beginning of the new football season and closes at the 27th of January 2012. The entry period for international teams closes 1 month later. If the tournament is filled completely we’ll close the entry period earlier. Around February 7. the playing schemes will be filled in. This to ensure a complete and interesting tournament scheme.

We filled in the entry form. When do we know if we do or do not participate?
Directly after the entry period, start of the new season and January 27. 2012, we will inform the interested Dutch clubs about their participation. Between January and March 2012 we will confirm the International participants. If there are still places available, Dutch teams on hold will be placed.

How many players per team are allowed?
In both age-groups we will play 7-a-side. To ensure a good tournament scheme at least 9 players per team are needed. There is no maximum.

Can we bring parents and supporters to the tournament?
Absolutely. This tournament is a wonderful experience for both players, staff, parents, brothers, sisters en supporters. The committee reminds you that the tournament program is mostly meant for the active participants (football players).

We have booked guest arrangement 1 and/ or 2 and pay a fee per person. What is included?
Each person who has booked a guest arrangement will have: 1 or 2 nights stay, meals, guided tour at Abe Lenstra Soccer Stadium of S.C. Heerenveen and full info service in the pre-tournament months. V.v. Nieuweschoot tries to keep the prices per person as low as possible to keep the tournament accessible for all interested clubs.

Is there a difference in price per person between players and staff?
No, the prices per person for a guest arrangement is the same for players and staff.

We will stay for one or two nights. What sleeping gear do we have to take?
Every person who will stay with us and sleeps one or two nights at the dormitory needs to bring his own sleeping gear (pillow, sleeping bag, inflatable mattress, etc).

Are there additional costs?
Yes, each participating team pays an entry fee of €25,-.

Why does my team has to pay an entry fee?
Each participating team pays an entry fee. This fee is used to compensate a minor part of the total tournament costs. And it is used to discourage any team by not showing up or cancelling their participation at the last moment.
